Freddie reeves is home for a month's vacation.
The pastor, Rev. E.P. Davis, will preach at teh Methodist church in Rockport next Sunday evening, July 9. The El Dara quartet will sing and the League will have charge of services there.
Rev. W.D. Humphrey invited the League to attend the conference to be held at Waverly, July 15.
Mr. and Mrs. Loraine Hoskin and Mrs. Carrie Harlow attended the funeral services for William Locket at Prentiss.
Mrs. Mike Shanahan, Miss Anna Shanahan, Keith Shanahan and Burdette Byers were supper guests of Mr.a nd MRs. Robert Ransom Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lesch and children of Summer Hill, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Motley.
The El Dara Bureau meeting was held Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Russell Croxville. Members responded to roll call with "A Home Accident". There were eight members present and four visitors. After business meeting the home advisor gave the lesson on "Furniture Arrangement". She had a model room and doll furniture to demonstrate her lesson. This lesson was an application also of the earlier lessons on color in the home. The minor lesson on "Flower Arrangement" was conducted by Florence Phebus. The next meeting will be at the home of Florence Phebus July 25. The major lesson is "Desserts to Fit the Meals", given by local leaders.

Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Shanahan, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Shanahan and Mrs. A. K. Ross left Saturday evening to visit Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ross in Highland, IL

Mrs. Carl Reynolds and daughter Phyllis, Mrs. Thos. Breckenridge, Mrs. Roy Sidwell and Mrs. Ellis Wallace were Quincy shoppers Saturday.

The Community Club of El Dara will have a potluck supper at the school house Friday night, November 21, at seven o'clock. All the parents and people of the comununity are welcome.

Mrs. Ross Motley entertained the Women's Society of Christian Service last Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Virgil Shanahan and Mrs. Charles Dolbeare were assistant hostesses. An election of officers was held and the following vvill take office in January: president, Mrs. Russell Croxville; vice-pres., Mrs. Harry Hoskins; sec'y., Mrs. William Reeve; and treas., Mrs. Ross Motley. Others present were: Mrs. Elmer McCallister, Mrs. Jessie Shanahan, Mrs. Herman McCallister, Mrs. Albert Trautwein, Sr., Mrs. Isaac Hoskin, Mrs. Thomas Deitzman, Mrs. Ray Tittsworth, Mrs. Kenneth Harlow, Mrs. Rosa Moorhead, Mrs. Mary Humphrey, Mrs. Pat Phebus, Mrs. Raymond Trautwein and Mrs. Clay Irick. Guests were Mrs. Ellis Wallace, Mrs. Nellie Arnett, Mrs. Wendell Garner and Mrs. Manford Holcomb. Refreshments of pumpkin pie and whipped cream, mints and coffee were served.

Mr. and Mrs. William Goodwin moved last week to Louisiana, Mo. where they plan to stay all winter.

Tom Deitzman returned home Friday night after picking apples near Hardin all fall.

Miss Kathryn Kinne, who is a student at the Kirksville Teachers College in Kirksville, Mo., spent the week end here with her mother, Mrs. Cecile Kinne.

Mr. and Mrs. Cicero Lee moved to Pittsfield Sunday to spend the winter. They both have employment there.

Miss Ruth Harlow was temporary postmistress Saturday while Mr. and Mrs. Donald Croxville spent the weekend in Forest, Ill. Mr. Russell Croxville accompanied them.

Mrs. Charlene Upton and son of Racine, Wisconsin and Mrs. Clarine Otto and daughter Suzanne of Kenosha, Wis. were here last weekend to visit Mr. and Mrs. Pat Phebus. Mrs. Clara Hornbach returned home with them, having spent several weeks at her home here.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dover of Barry visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.Gene Phebus

Mr. and Mrs. Manford Holcomb were in Hannibal Sunday.

Mrs. Fannie Hoskin and son Lyndle visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Wallace Wednesday evening, Miss Helen Harlow of Barry spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Harlow.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dolbeare whose daughter passed away Sunday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Pryor were Hannibal shoppers Saturday.

The Young People's Class of the Methodist Church had their social Thursday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pryor. Mrs. Ellis Strubinger is their teacher.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dolbeare left Monday morning for St. Louis where they will attend the Illinois Agricultural Association convention.

Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Harlow and children moved to their home which has been occupied by Mrs. Mary Humphrey.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Davis of Rushville visited with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sidwell.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Irick spent Sunday at the Charlie White home in Baylis.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Reynolds and daughter were supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reynolds in Barry.
