Barry Adage, Friday Sep. 5, 1879, p2 None of our people attended the Old Settlers meeting at Pleasant Hill. They attended the funeral of Obed Gard on that day. Mr. Gard had been a resident here for 49 years.
The Barry Adage July 5, 1939 Mrs. C.O. Gard, Mrs. Robey Wallace and Mrs. John Fisher were in Jacksonville Monday.
During the electrical storm Monday afternoon lightning killed three steers form Paul Nicol.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parks and son entertained a large group at a picnic Sunday, honoring Mr. and Mrs. C.D. McMurray, daughter and son of Tremont IL.
Mrs. Edna Sutton and two children left late Saturday night for Farina IL where they will spend the remainder of the summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Rex Gard of Decatur spent Saturday night and Sunday with Mr.a nd Mrs. Homer Dolbeare and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Wike of Springfield, spent the Fourth of July holidays with Carson Wike and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rose and daughter and J.W. Rose of Quincy spent Sunday with rs. Sadie Rose.
William Obcamp received word Thursday telling of the illness of his mother in Lincoln. Mrs. Obcamp had suffered a stroke of paralysis early that day. Mr. and Mrs. Obcamp left Saturday morning for Lincoln.
Mrs. Harry Morey is visiting friend in this community and while here is transacting business for her farm.
Miss Marguerita Gunlock of Champaign, spent from Thursday night until Sunday with her parents, Mr.a nd Mrs. Carl Gunlock and other relatives.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Morris Day, a daughter, Monday June 26. This is the third child and second daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Carson Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Kendrick and Kyle Wike drove to Peoria Tuesday. Mr. Wike remained several days in Peoria.
Miss Annabel Langfahl is visiting her brother William Langfahl and family in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Sigler and daughter of St. Louis are visitin relatives here.

Mrs. Elester Kendrick, assisted by Mrs. Lucille Obcamp, will entertain the Kum=Join-Us_Class at the Kendrick home November 19, 1947.
Mrs. Fannie Fisher and grandaughter, Mrs. Joe Gay, drove to Alton Friday where they attended the wedding of Mrs. Gay's sister, Fern B. Reeder, to Mr. Charles E. Cox which was held at the home of Mr.a nd Mrs. ARthur F. Gerbig Friday evening at eight November 14.

Mrs. Sarah Rainwater and Mr. and Mrs. Logan Baker were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Champ Brown at their home in Kinderhook Sunday. A dinner was served honoring Mrs. Rainwater's 85th birthday anniversary.

Mrs. Lora Fisher will hold open house from 1 to 5 at her home Friday Nov. 28. The occassion is her 86th birthday anniversary.

Mr. and MRs. Ted Sisk who have been living on the Clammpitt farm near New Canton, moved to a farm near Coatsburg this week. Mr. and mRs. Luther Garner will move to the Clampitt farm next spring.
