Enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, MO, 2 July, 1917. Overseas 13 December, 1917. In battles of Touton Troyon, Aisne Defensive, Chateau-Thierry, Argonne-Marne, Marbeck, St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne. In Army of Occupation. Cited for valor in operation November 1-11 in Meuse-Argonne Sector. G. O. 88, Hdq. 2nd Div., 31 December 1918. Discharged at Camp Grant, IL 14 August, 1919. Promoted to Captain in May, 1917. Arrived overseas 13 August, 1917. Promoted to Major in July 1918. Served with 1st Div. through all campaigns and battles. Two citations for distinguished service.
