(Note from Billie Browning) - Roy Percintina served under Harry S Truman in WW 1. In Pleasant Hill he was known as "Brock The Welder" I used to set on my grandparents front porch in the summer when I was about 8 years old and I could hear him pounding on the plow shears, and grinding syscel blades. A couple of years back when I taped an old friend, he told me that years ago an airplane landed in Pleasant Hill....the citizens had hardly ever seen "a flying machine" The plane had landed because of engine trouble. Brock being a shade tree mechanic, was helping the pilot with the problem. Finally they got it started and the pilot said to Brock, I'll take it up and see if it's ok, then return and pay you. It took off and that was the last "Brock" saw of the plane and pilot. ROBERT M. SAPP #15 Sergeant, company clerk, Co. L, C. of C. M. T. C. Son of J. M. and Margaret Sapp of Rockport, Ill.
