Worked in Compiegne, Soissons, Che­min des Dames and Rheims sectors, and in bat­tle of Fort Malmaison and the Chemin des Dames Oct. 5-25, 1917. Nov. 19, 1917, entered service of American Air Service at Headquarters L. of C. at Paris. Asst. to C. O. Hdqs. Supply Depot and Building Admr. Div. and Emergency Purchasing Agent. Released from U. S. Air Service Feb. 10, 1919, to go to Mon­tenegro as Chief of Bureau of Supplies for American Red Cross. Returned to U. S. July 8, 1919. Received Section Citation T. M. U. 133 in orders of French 6th Army, Oct. 17, 1917. Awarded A. F. S. Medal by French for volun­teer service Sur la Front Aux Arinie Francaise. Awarded Cross of St. Savar IV Class, by Prince Alexander of Serbia for service in Montenegro.
