Later he was transferred to a heavy cruiser, USS Louisville, on which he served until the end of the war. His ship led the bombardment of islands in the Pacific helping to shell paths on beaches for invasion forces.

Re-Enlisted in the Navy March 26, 1946 and was sent to Guam.
