PAUL HACK, AGED 15, ARRESTED AT NEBO - BROUGHT HERE
CONFESSED P.O. BURGLARY
IMPLICATES BROTHER OF POST MISTRESS, WHO ALSO CONFESSED

O. G. Addleman, chief deputy United States Marshal of Springfield district, arrived in Quincy yesterday afternoon, having in custody Paul Hack, a 15 year old boy who has already confessed to complicity in the post office robbery at Nebo, Pike County, Wednesday night. He was a partner of Ray Guthrie, an account of whose arrest at Louisiana, Mo., was given in the Whig yesterday morning. Robert W. Zumwalt, another youth, was arrested with him; and he was released. Young Hack was taken before United States Commissioner W. P. Martindale yesterday evening, and is now held in the county jail in default of $1000 bonds. Guthrie will be brought to Quincy when requisition papers are secured, and the trials will be held in Quincy at a session of the federal court.

According to Hack's confession to Marshal Addleman, he, with Guthrie, entered the Nebo post office Wednesday night by means of a key which the latter stole from the glove of his sister. Miss Guthrie is postmistress at Nebo, and carried the key in her glove. Young Hack took supper that evening at the Guthrie's home, and then the two boys went downtown. After they were on the streets for some time, Guthrie confided to Hack that he had stolen the key, and suggested that they go into the post office to see what they might find. Hack says he refused at first, but was finally prevailed upon to enter as a party to the adventure. The entrance was effected and the two boys secured about $13 in cash and stamps. Guthrie left town the following day, and was arrested Friday at Louisiana, Mo., by Deputy O.J. Clarke and Marshal O'Hern of Hannibal.
