ANNIE (PETERSON) BERRY , Died, August 13, 1899, at the home of Leroy Law, where she was visiting and being cared for by loving hearts and willing hands for a few days. Mrs. Annie Berry, aged 31 years, 7 months and 17 days. She was the widow of Wm. P. Berry, who died from an accident happening from moving an engine two years ago. The shock caused from her husbands death, was never recovered from, and from that time disease set in and all that tender hearts and willing hands could do, they could not save her from the enemy of all mankind, which is death. Our sister and mother leaves to mourn her loss, a brother and three children, and a large circle of friends. She and her twin and only brother, L. C. [Linnius Charles] Peterson, were born in Pike County, Illinois, and when in infancy their father died, [actually their father, Benjamin Franklin Peterson, did not die until 12 Dec 1928 vgb] and at the age of thirteen years their best and only protection, the mother was called to lay down her burden, which left the two orphans to fight the battles of life alone in a cold and heartless world. At the house of Leroy Law, August 14, funeral services were held and world of comfort spoken by S. C. Oliver, from Job 14:14, and clearly proved by the inspired word of God that the sister and mother would live again, and on the renewed earth would meet her bereaved friends where there will be peace and joy everlasting.
