ANNA ELIZA (BAIRD) FARMER - Once more the golden bowl is broken and the silver cord is loosed; but safe in the Father's house, in a mansion built beautifully from holy living, the subject of our sketch has realized the blessed reward for the faithful. Anna Eliza, the daughter of William and Mary Baird, was born near the Elm Grove community not far from Barry, Ill., October 21, 1852, and passed peacefully away at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Baird, in Barry, on Monday, July 2, 1917...in the evening, having attained the age of 64 years, 8 months and 11 days. On March 23, 1870, she united her fortunes by marriage to Joshua Farmer. To this union seven children were born. Three are dead and are Mary Olive, who died in infancy, Mrs. Nora Cunningham, and Mrs. Lena Dilley. Those remaining to mourn their mother's death are Mrs. Myrtle Hackard, of Plainville, Ill.; Mrs. Della Fitzpatrick, of Baylis, Ill.; Mrs. Geneva Oitker, of Barry, and Dallas J., of Seattle, Wash. Dallas was unable to be present today. Her husband has preceded her in death, and her only brother, Charles Baird, has also passed on....she united with the Kinderhook Methodist church about 25 or 30 years ago. She has resided in Barry seven years, coming here from Kinderhook, where she had had resided for some time....It would be thoughtless indeed if we did not especially mention Miss Hazel Cunningham, a granddaughter, who from babyhood has resided with Mrs. Farmer, after Hazel's own mother passed away about 16 years ago....Funeral services were held at the Barry Methodist church on Thursday, July 5, in charge of pastor Rev. A. C. Adams, and burial made in Park Lawn cemetery.
