DAVID ILER
- Pleasant Hill, Ill., Aug. 29- David Iler, who had been sick nearly all summer died Friday morning, in the 80th year of his age. The interment took place Saturday at New Hartford his former home, and was conducted by the Odd Fellows. Notwithstanding the extreme heat and the dust, quite a large crowd attended his funeral.
JOSEPH IRICK IFTNER
, 87, of Pittsfield died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Illini Community Hospital.
He was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Pittsfield Township, the son of Harry and Rebecca Irick Iftner.
Surviving are his wife, Elisabeth; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Ruth Ann Korwel of Indian Head Park and her children, Matthew, Chris and Mary Korwel, Jody Cummings and her husband, Jim, of Merritt Island, Fla., and their children, Thomas and Jamie Cummings, Becky Winner and her husband, Mark, of Pittsfield and their children, Joe Winner and his wife, Katy, and Kristina Law and her husband, Eric, and Dr. Mary Dobbins and her husband, Brian, of Springfield, and their children, Debbie, Ben and Joe; brother, Robert Carl of Harvard; brother-in-law, John Wood of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, south of Pittsfield. Lunch will be at the Cardinal Inn in Pittsfield after services. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.
PAULINE O. (RICHTER) BASS INSKIP
, 84, of Kampsville, died Fri, Nov. 28, 2003, in Pittsfield Manor. She was born Nov. 3, 1919 in Bellview to John and Lettie Curtis Richter. She married Wendell T. Bass Aug. 25, 1938 in Union, Mo. He died March 15, 1982. She married Basil Inskip Sept. 5, 1985, and he also preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kampsville and later joined the Church of Christ in Boliver, TN. She and her husband Wendell owned and operated the Main Street Café in Hardin and she also worked at McCully's Restaurant in Kampsville, Wienke Grocery in Hardin and as a secretary for her brother at Richter Fertilizer in Kampsville. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, bingo and doing jigsaw puzzles. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Carol Yaeger of Pittsfield and Mrs. James (Joan) Cobb of Clinton; a stepdaughter, Shirley Husky, 1 son; Eugene (Bonnie) Bass of Franklin, NC and a stepson, LaVern Bass of Gallatin, TN; 1 brother, Marvin Richter of Kampsville; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Cobb; 1 brother, Howard Richter; and a sister, Nellie Brangenberg. Funeral services were Mon, Dec. 1, at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with burial at Richter Cemetery near Kampsville. Memorials are to the Altzheimer's Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
MARGIE L. (REED) IRICK
, 84, of Pittsfield , IL. , died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Illini Community Hospital , Pittsfield , IL . She was born on October 5, 1925, in Pittsfield , IL. , to Ben and Ada Ward Reed. She married Clay L. Irick on December 27, 1950, and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1971.
Mrs. Irick was an elementary school teacher at Pikeland Unit 10, Pittsfield , IL . She taught the 5th grade. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan . She was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church , United Methodist Women, Pike County Retired Teacher’s Association, and the Pittsfield Book Club. She loved to travel with her special friend, Keith Dodd. She enjoyed her cruises and world tour.
Survivors: One son: Drew (Janice) Irick of Dallas, TX, and one sister: Mrs. Billie (Donald) Smith of Rochester, NY.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Clay, and special friend and companion, Keith Dodd.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield , IL , with Rev. Tom Wilber officiating. Burial will be at the West Cemetery , Pittsfield , IL . A lunch will follow the services at the Orr Hall, United Methodist Church , Pittsfield , IL . Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, from 5 until 7 pm at the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield , IL .
Memorials are suggested to the Pittsfield United Methodist Church or the Pikeland School Foundation.
John C. IRWIN
, 89 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield, IL. John was born June 17, 1922 in Ashburn, MO, a son of Harrison and Rebecca Tunis Irwin. He married Mary Darlene Bennett on June 1, 1942 in Troy, Mo and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2002.
John retired from the United States Postal service as a maintenance supervisor. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Pittsfield and received Man Of The Year Award from the church, member of Pittsfield Masonic Lodge #790 A.F. & A.M., Quincy Consistory, a 33rd Degree Mason, received the Meritorious Service Award, member of Ansar Shrine Temple of Springfield, Pike County Shrine Club and a member of the Pittsfield Order of Eastern Star #196. He enjoyed working with church committees, stain glass work, repairing lawn mowers, playing guitar and harmonica. As a young man, John loved to call square dances.
John is survived by two sons, Burdette (Becky) Irwin of Pittsfield and Walter (Ann) Irwin of San Diego, CA, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister, Pearl (Bill) Schuckman of Quincy, IL, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, Harold and Fred Irwin, and a sister, Beatrice Payne of Louisiana, MO.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Pittsfield with Pastor Michael TenEyck officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Devotion in the Pittsfield West Cemetery with graveside military rites accorded by Pittsfield American Legion Post #152. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Masonic services conducted by Pittsfield Lodge #790 A.F. & A.M. will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Niebur Funeral Home.

ROBERT A IRWIN
, 74, of 610 W. LeFevre Rd., Sterling, died Monday morning (1 April 1957 ) in Methodist Hospital, Madison, Wis., following a short illness.
He was born July 19, 1882 in Carroll County, the son of David and Margaret Irwin and was district distributor for the Murphy Products Co., Burlington, Wis., for the past 15 years. Irwin was a member of the Methodist Church for many years. He is survived by his wife, Minnie, at home; two sons, William D. Irwin, Freeport; and Robert G. Irwin, Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. E. R. (Dorothy) Chitty, Rockford; and Mrs. R. E. (Margaret) Baarnhart, Cincinnati, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
His first wife, Grace E. Sisler, preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Allen Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. Rev. Paul Bloomquist, pastor of the Embuny Methodist Church of Freeport, will officiate and burial will be in
Griggville, Cemetery.
ELBERT DON ISAAC
, 96, of Morehead City, N.C., formerly of Mulberry Grove, died Monday, March 1, 2004, at Carteret General Hospital in Somerset, N.C.
Mr. Isnar, was bom Dec. 22, 1907 in Eddyville to Thomas Jefferson Isaac and Alpha Retta Whiteside. He married Rachel Marshall Feb. 25, 1933. She died March 16, 1980.
He was a high school principal for 30 years in Mulberry Grove and Pleasant Hill schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Lieutenant j. g. in World War II, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 of Vandalia and Gilham Lodge 809 of Mulberry Grove.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Denton of Emerald Isle, N.C.; two granddaughters, Lisa McNutt and Laura Leckrone; and three great-grandchildren, Haley, Dathan and Carson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 12, at 1 p.m. at McInturff Cemetery in Hagarstown, with a Masonic service at the gravesite
MICHAEL WAYNE IVEY
, 58, of Pittsfield, died Sept. 22, 2008 in Blessing Hospital.
He was born Sept. 19, 1950 to the late John and Rose Ivey of Florida.
He served in the US Army in the 70s. HE was a truck driver for many years and then worked in Recruiting and Safety for various trucking companies throughout the United States.
He enjoyed working with computers in which he created and helped others create web pages. HE enjoyed going to the gambling boats and going to auctions. Mike especially loved and very much enjoyed being with and playing with his son, Colton. Colton is seven and misses his best buddy. Colton was Mike's world.
Mike is survived by his son, Colton Ivey, and step daughter, Emilee Kitch, both of Perry; a daughter, Carla of Jonesborough, Tenn.; four brothers, Steve, Jerry and Rick of Florida an Jack of Indiana; two grandsons, Timmy and Brandon of Jonesborough, Tenn.; aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews, also survive.
He was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, parents and grandparents.
Since Mike was cremated and his remains were shipped to Tennessee to be sprinkled over the ocean, Colton's family will have a small memorial service at the Wilson Cemetery in Perry with Mark Dickerson officiating at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.
