CHARLES E. KELLUM - Memorial services for Charles E. Kellum, 95, of Bakersfield, Calif. will be Wednesday Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in East Peoria, with Pastor Dan Lybarger performing the service. Direct cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 10 to 10:45 a.m. preceding the service. He died Wednesday Nov. 16, 2011, in Bakersfield. Denton-Wood Funeral Home in Carlsbad, N.M. is in charge of arrangements. Charles Edward Kellum was born Oct. 29, 1916, at Hadley. to Eugene and Rebecca Hunter Kellum. He worked at the Caterpillar, Inc proving grounds for 35 years . He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad, NM. His parents; two brothers: Emery E. Kellum and Merrill F. Kellum; one sister, Edna L. Kellum and best friend and partner, Anne DuCharme preceded him in death. Survivors include Anne’s son, Dr.Richard (Hedy) DuCharme of Colorado Springs, Colo., and nine beloved nieces and nephews: Edward Kellum (the late Janet) of Monrovia, Calif., Elvin (Inell) Kellum of Biloxi, Miss., Larry (Fran) Kellum of Minneola, Fla., Joanne (the late Jack) Moore of Hendricks, Minn., Merrilyn (Russell) Schultz of Naperville, Ronald (Betty) Kellum of East Peoria, Kaye (Katherine) Kellum of Mona, Utah, Donald (Linda) Kellum of Morton and Glenn (Marilyn) Kellum of Pekin. Charles enjoyed many things in life and was blessed by many friends where ever he lived. After retirement, he moved from Illinois to Florida then later to New Mexico and California. He will be sorely missed. The family has a special appreciation to the loving care given by his great niece Sharon and Bob Chase during his time at Bakersfield.

EDNA (BURBRIDGE) KEMENER , age 77, of Route 2, Pittsfield, passed away Friday morning Dec. 22, 1950 in Illini Hospital. Death resulted from burns sustained Thursday morning in her home when her clothing became ignited. According to reports, Mrs. Kemener was preparing breakfast for her 7 years old grandson and leaned over the gas stove, catching fire to her clothing. She and the grandson were alone at the time. A daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bunn, who has made her home with her mother, was away. Mrs. Kemener apparantly removed her burning clothing herself and then telephone her other daughter, Mrs.LeRoy Butterfield, who resides in a n ear-by house on Mrs. Kemener's farm. Mr. and Mrs. Butterfield took Mrs. Kemener immediately to the hospital. After inquiry was conducted Friday evening by Coroner Walter Plattner. It was established that Mrs. Kemener came to her death from third degree burns on her back and arms with shock a contributory factor. Mrs. Kemener was bornsouth of Griggsville, July 10, 1877, a daughter ofJohn and Clara Hill Burbridge. In October 1918 she was married to Charles Kemener who preceded her in death June 1944. Funeral services were conducted Sunday Dec. 24, 1950 from the Independence Church at Independence IL by Rev. G.B. Garrison. Burial was in West Cemetery, Pittsfield. Surviving besides the two daughters, are a sister, Mrs. Frances O'Hearn of Vandalia MO; five grandchildren. A daughter Mrs. Jeanette McGreevy and a sister Stella preceded her death.

ANNA KILLGORE , 92, of Carmichael, Calif., formerly of Hull, Ill., died at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, in Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael. She was born Sept. 11, 1919, a daughter of Howard A. Spalding and Anna L. Schwartz. They preceded her in death. She was first married to Charles M. Rickey. She moved to California 58 years ago and later married Eugene V. Killgore in 1966. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Jean Koeller (Russell), of New Canton, Ill.; three grandsons, Bryan (Kim) Koeller and Gavin Koeller both of New Canton and Kris (Deanna) Koeller of Hull; eight great-grandchildren, Clark, Hannah, Dawson, Aidan, Jayce, Alyssa, Max and Preston Koeller. She is also survived by a brother, Howard Spalding (Starr) of Yuba City, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended family at Atria El Camino Gardens, Carmichael, Calif., where she resided for 11 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and three brothers, Russell A., Milton B., and Thomas Lamar Spalding. Anna graduated from Hull High School in 1937. During World War II she worked as a bomb inspector in Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania and Southern California. Anna was a life member of VFW Auxiliary Post 6158 serving as Chaplin, and a longtime volunteer for the Hospital Guild at Mercy Healthcare in Sacramento with over 2500 hours service. She loved music and playing the piano, sewing and cats and dogs. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in Shearer Cemetery, New Canton. Memorials may be made to Shearer Cemetery Flag Fund. Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.

CAROLYN J. KIRBY ,65, of New Canton, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, in the Barry Community Care Center in Barry. She was born March 30, 1946, in Pittsfield, to Hubert Lee and Norma June (Guthrie) Butler. Her mother survives in Pleasant Hill. She married Ronald D. Kirby, May 29, 1985, in Hannibal, Mo. He survives in New Canton. She is also survived by one son, Ron Crossman of New Canton; three daughters, Rachael Kirby and Julie Mason, both of New Canton and Jody Rennecker of Pittsfield; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ronnie (Patrice) Adrain of Pittsfield and Mrs. Joe (Pamela) McCulloch both of Pittsfield and Mrs. Shawn (Brigitte) Meyer of Barry. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Robb Crossman, 1 sister, Beverly (Cheryl) Kuck and her father. Carolyn was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and working outside. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, in the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, in the Nebo Cemetery in Nebo. Burial was in Nebo Cemetery in Nebo. Memorials are suggested to the Barry Community Care Center Activity Fund

JOHN R. KUNTZ , 52, of Springfield, formerly of Barry, died at 8:09 a.m. Tues. (March 1, 1988) in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Mr. Kuntz was born Aug. 7, 1935, in Barry, a son of John and Beatrice Borrowman Kuntz. A graduate of the Missouri School of Mines, Mr. Kuntz was employed by the Illinois Department of Transportation. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Kuntz of Quincy; and a brother, Robert Kuntz of Columbia, Mo. Services were conducted Friday afternoon in Lummis-Bennet Funeral Home in Barry. Burial was in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund. No visitation was held.
