EMMA MARCELLA (McGRADY) MYERS Sunday, Barry and vicinity mourned the death of Mrs. Emma Myers, another of our good women and useful citizens. Death came to Mrs. Myers about 6:00 o'clock Sunday morning, after a sudden swift heart attack, but with a smile on her lips on her bed alone in her room at her old home southwest of Barry. She was 65 years old. About 5:30 o'clock Sunday morning Mrs. Myers called to her son, Earl, to disconnect the radio on account of the lightning. The son rose and did as she had asked him and remained up and went to the kitchen to get breakfast. He peered into his mother's room once while getting the meal ready for her and he thought she was sleeping so continued with the work at hand. By 6:00 everything was done and he went to call his mother. He entered her room and found she was dead, having passed away within the half hour that he was in another room. The family physician was called and he said that her death was due to acute heart failure. Mrs. Myers had been having some trouble with her heart, but she did not complain and her condition was never considered serious. She was in town Saturday, happy and jovial as ever, visiting her daughter and friends she met on the streets and business houses. Emma Marcella McGrady was born in Montague County, Texas, October 27 1863, being born at a time when Indians still menaced pioneer conditions. At the age of 17 years she was married to Douglas Myers, who had gone to that section of the country from Illinois. To this union six children were born: Alberta, who died at the age of 17, Walter, who died at the age of six months; Warren who resides in Quincy, Harry, of Chicago; Mrs. Pearl Kibler, of Barry, Earl, who lived with his mother. Besides these children she leaves two brothers and two sisters and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Myer's (sic) husband died four and a half years ago. Mrs. Myers was a woman who carried the pioneer principles governing her early days through her entire life. She maintained an active and vigorous interest in life up to the time of her decease. Her presence will be sadly missed in her family and among her various friends and relatives. The funeral services will be held from the Myers home at 2:00 o'clock this (Wednesday) afternoon with Rev. W. H. Dickman, pastor of the Barry Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be made in Park Lawn cemetery.

FLOYD MYERS - Death has again visited the home of Geo. and Mary Myers, and taken the pet lamb of the household, Floyd, infant son, born May 15, 1896; died, Feb. 26, 1897; aged 9 months and 11 days. He has gone away, while the day is yet fair and sweet with the dew of early morning. The flowers have their appointed time to blossom and to fade, and the sweet violet that folds its petals and droops in the early springtime has accomplished its mission just as perfectly as the more hardy flowers that remain to brighten the summer. HAROLD MYERS - Another home was mantled in sorrow and gloom too deep for utterance on Thursday morning at 5 o'clock July 17, 1913, when the black angel of death entered our midst and claimed for its victim our darling little Harold, son of Warren and Alta Myers, at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Myers. Little Harold was born Nov. 21, 1910, and departed this life at the age of 2 years, 7 months and 26 days. But few deaths of children have called forth such universal sorrow as Harold's. His beautiful life was so short we say, yet if we measure life by sweet loving acts, gleams of sunshine and intelligence Harold has lived longer than many who have existed on earth the alloted time. As he lay in his beautiful casket in his snowy robes of purity, holding sweet white flowers in his little hands, how truly did he remind us of a snowy white lily asleep upon the bosom of God. May the memory of dear little Harold, his sweet little sayings, his bright cheerful life, rest like a benediction upon us all and prove an inspiration to a higher holier life. Little Harold leaves to mourn his death his father, mother and brother Elmo, besides his grandparents, uncles and aunts and many other relatives and friends. He is not gone forever, only transplanted from earth to bloom forever in the paradise of God. Funeral services were held at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Myers, Rev. G. W. Claxon officiating.
CARD OF THANKS.
We desire to express our deepest appreciation and thanks to the many kind friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the serious sickness and death of our darling little Harold. Also Dr. Beavers and Miss Eberhardt, his nurse, who did all in their power. We thank the neighbors and friends for the beautiful floral offerings. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Myers,
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Myers.

WILLIAM MYERS , whose decease we chronicle today, was the eldest son of Jacob and Rebecca (Wike) Myers, and was born near Barry, Illinois, on November 24, 1847. He quietly closed this life on Friday afternoon, June 22, 1928, at the home of his son Harvey, in Barry, being 80 years, 6 months and 28 days of age. William was but seven years old when his mother died. His father moved to California, and his uncle, C. G. Boren of Plainville, then reared him to manhood. It was on December 12, 1868, that he married Bathana## A. McCarl of Richfield township. To this union was born was born one son, Harvey L., who will miss a kind and loving father. The wife and mother preceded her husband in death a number of years ago. Besides the son he leaves three grand-children and a number of other relatives and host of friends. Mr. Myers lived for one year at the old home place, later in Plainville, still later in 1874, moving to Richfield township and finally in 1909 coming to Barry with his wife and son to reside. He had, up to the latter date, always followed farming as a livelihood. Mr. Myers united with the Zion Baptist church, north of Barry, in 1895. He continued his membership to the end, and upon that profession of faith built up a greater work and service in the Master's cause. He liked to attend church services and was often found there when health permitted. We find him a man of many friends, a kind and accommodating neighbor, and altogether a citizen of distinction. His quiet and gentle ways among his fellow-men doubtless caused many to refer to him as "Uncle Will." He has lived as a good example for men, so, truly, the end of the righteous shall be peace. Funeral services were held from the Barry Funeral Home on Sunday, June 24th. The Rev. Wm. H. Dickman of the Barry Baptist church was the minister in charge. Interment was in Park Lawn cemetery beside the grave of his wife.

WILLIAM MYERS - This afternoon another venerable citizen of this township will be laid to rest. Wm. Myers, Sr., died on Tuesday from self inflicted injuries. He has for years made his home with his son William, Jr. and for several weeks has been in failing health. Tuesday forenoon he disappeared from about the house, but the family supposing he had gone to the residence of another son not far away, nothing strange was thought of it and no search was made for him during the day. During the evening the son William Jr. started on horseback down the lane towards the public road, and while passing his blackberry patch saw his father lying among the bushes. Then the horrifying face of a suicide was apparent. The circumstances indicate that about 10 o'clock Tuesday forenoon Mr. Myers went a short distance west of the dwelling into the blackberry bushes alluded to and with a long stick pressed the trigger that sent a load of shot into his brain, blowing part of the forehead off and causing instant death. A coroners jury decided it was a case of self destruction. Mr. Myers was about 76 years of age and has been an honored and well-to-do resident of the township for many years. His act was due to despondence caused by sickness and ill health. It is an extremely sad blow to the family and hosts of friends. The funeral will take place from the family residence at 2 p.m. to-day. [Adage, Thurs 23 May 1895, p5 c3]
OBITUARY: William Myers was born in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania July 15th, 1819; at the time of his death was 76 years, 10 months and __ days old. He was married in 1842 to Mary Wike, daughter of Geo. and Polly Wike, who [Mary] died at their home in Barry nearly eight years ago, at the age of 73 years. Wm. Myers came to Illinois in 1842, settled in Hadley township, Pike County, where he lived for two years, then removed to New Salem, where he remained for five years, then removed to Barry township, where he has since lived until death. Mr. Myers was the father of six children four of whom are living. [Barry Adage, Thurs, 30 May 1895, p2? c4]
The heirs of the late Wm. Myers, Sr., met a few days ago and agreed upon a division of the property of the estate. They estimated the property to be worth $18,500, consisting principally of lands in this township. Of the five shares, George, Douglas and William Myers take theirs in farm lands, Mrs. Thos. E. Gorton gets the town property and a tract of land, and Cell Harvey's daughters get theirs in cash. The deeds have not passed yet, but the settlement has been agreed upon and will be consummated, no doubt, upon the basis named. And by the way it is a very sensible and inexpensive way of settling the estate.
