Henry Weddington (son of Jacob & Jane (Presley) Weddington) was born February 2, 1816 in Russell County Virginia. His marriage to Mary Jane Smith occurred in about 1846. Their first child was born in KY. The rest of their children were born in Pike County IL.

This is about three of their children --
two sons and one daughter. James C., William Claybourne and Mary Candace.

James C. Weddington was born 4 August 1848 and died 16 January 1924 in Pike Co IL. He was married to Laura Virginia Steers on 23 October 1873. She was born 1 September 1856 (Ralls MO) and died 30 August 1920 in Pike Co IL. They are both buried in Kinderhook Cemetery. They had four sons, Harry, Arthur, Clyde and Hugh. Laura was the daughter of William and Lucinda (Hitch) Steers.

William Claybourne Weddington was born 7 January 1850 and died 17 Mar 1928 in Pike Co IL.
He was married to Lillian Jane Close 23 March 1876 in Pike Co. She was born 1 May 1857 and died 3 January 1942.

William and Lillian had 6 children: Lawrence Henry, Mary Jane, James Norton, John Franklin, Charles Ralph, and Anna Fern
They are both buried at Akers Cemetery.
Laura was the daughter of Norton and Martha Jane (Bridgewater) Close.

Mary Candace (Weddington) Patterson was born 1859 in Pike Co IL and died June 17, 1948 in Davison Co SD. She was married to William Dingley Patterson 15 October 1876 in Pike Co. William was born 20 August 1856 in WI and died 20 April 1938 in SD. They are Althey, Roy, Laura Mae, Harold (b 20 January 1888), Frank, Harry (b 1894), Georgiann, Hazel, and Alberta. The first five were born in Illinois and the last four in South Dakota.
