LONG FAMILY REUNION

Descendants of William Edgar Long and Missouri Belle Garner of Pearl and Milton area met at Mississippi Valley Christian Camp Sunday, August 10, 2008 with fellowship and a potluck dinner for the Long reunion. Much visiting and swimming in the lake was enjoyed. A business meeting was held to elect new officers. Larry Long was elected president and Russell Renoud, secretary-treasurer. In 2007 we lost our secretary-treasurer Hzel Goldman. She held this position 1964 - 2007 equaling 43 years service. She was a joy; always a smile and kind word for everyone. This year there was a birth, Meadhoh Delaney Higgins, born Feb. 7 to Bill and Diede (Cox) Higgins of Pittsfield; grandparents Joe Cox, Marsha Schlieper and great grandparents Leroy and Barbara Cox of Pittsfield.

Attending were Russell and Joan Renoud, and Dorman and Sherri Deeder, all of Bluffs; Susan and Rodger Fox, Jim and Crystal Bigelow, and Larry, Lori and Justin Renoud, all of Jacksonville; Brock, Lesley and Brooklyn Hileman of Winchester; Karen and Dallas Renoud of Petersburg; Jack and Mary Jean Bristol of Milton; Phyllis Webster of Pleasant Hill, Thelma Hammitt, Lucile Long, Craig Hammitt and Eric, LeRoy Cox, Susan and Carroll Cox, Steven Cox and Jason, and Deborah Renoud, Ben, Brian and Brady, all of Pittsfield; Frank Long of Brighton, Scott, Janice and Kelsey Webster of Quincy; Kelli, Gerry, Joshua and Abigail DeNina ofHampshire; Alan and Donna Cornine ofWood River; Jordan and Chase Wallendorff; Larry and Jane Long of Marengo; and Debris Shelton of Roachdale IN.

The Long Reunion of William Edgar Long and Missouri Belle Garner of the Pearl, Milton area came together at. Mississippi Christian Camp Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009 with fellowship and a pot luck dinner. Lots of visiting, looking at pictures of past ancestors, a good potluck and swimming in the lake was enjoyed. A business meeting was held to elect new officers. Frank Long was elected president; Russell Renoud was elected secretary/treasurer.

This year we lost Steven J. Hoover Aug. 3. Births this year were August Perry Webster, son of Mark and Cyndi Webster and a daughter, Mattie Rose, daughter of Jack and Deidre Higgins, July 17. The next reunion is being planned for the second Sunday in August 2010. A total of 33 were in atten­dance.
