NEWMAN FAMILY REUNION

The 46th annual reunion of the descendants of Welcome and Nora Brown Newman was held August 17, 2008 at New Salem State Park of Petersburg. Prayer was offered by Alan Wetzel. Thirty-six enjoyed a bountiful dinner on a beautiful August day. Family pictures and friendly conversations took place.
Those present were Betsy Quinn, Pontiac; Dick and Margaret McLaughlin, Minooka; Alan and Peg Wetzel, Tucson AZ; Chris Doore, Minooka; John and Vickie Newman, Sherman; Stuart Doom, Athens; Cheri and Roland Doom, Athens; Samantha and Doug Detmers, Zavier and Jordan, Hartsburg; Nathan Dunham, Reg and Linda Dunham, Roger and Cathy Dunham all of Jacksonville; Vin and Rose Newman, Brian and Cathy Newman, Abby, Brea, Sara, Emma all of Beardstown; Bud and Dorothy Newman, Pittsfield; Dona and Angie Newman, Paige, Dalton, Marissa, Carthage; Doug Newman, Springfield.
The next reunion is planned for the third Sunday August 16, 2009 at New Salem State Park.

NEWMAN FAMILY REUNION
Contributed by Billie Browning The 49th reunion of the descendants of Welcome John and Nora Brown Newman was held Aug. 21, 2011, at New Salem State Park in Petersburg. A bountiful dinner and lovely afternoon was spent visiting and picture taking. Alan Wetzel gave our blessing. Those enjoying the day were: Stuart Dooms and Chris and Roland Dooms, of Athens, Samantha and Doug Detmers and family of Hartsburg, John and Chris Dorre of Minooka, John and Vicki Newman of SKerman7 David and Karen Newman of Millsfafdtj Millstadt, Ashley and Oliver Penn Newman of Sherman, Betsy Quinn of Pontiac, Dick and Margaret McLaughlin of Minooka, Peg and Alan Wetzel of Tucson, Ariz., Vin and Rose Newman of Beardstown, Brain, Kathy, Brea, Emma and Sara Newman, Beardstown, Linda Dunham, Jacksonville, Roger and Cathy Dunham of Jacksonville, Reg Khoy Dunham of Springfield, Cheryl Newman of New Berlin, Bill and Mindy Newman of Pittsfield, Don, Angie, Paige, Dalton, Marissa Newman of Carthage, Doug Newman and Tammy of Springfield, Bud and Dorothy Newman of Pittsfield. Also enjoying the picnic with the group was Harry and Kathryn Mercer Newman's son and wife, John and Doris Newman of Quincy. The 50th reunion will be held at New Salem State Pak in Petersburg, the third Sunday, Aug/19, 2012.
