To the Hon. Strother Grigsby, Judge of the County Court of Pike County, Illinois.
The petition of the undersigned, respectfully represents that Richard Franklin late of the County of Pike aforesaid, departed this life at his _________ in said County, on or about the 24th day of February 1874; leaving no last will and testament, so far as your Petitioner knows or believes. And this Petitioner further shows that the said Richard Franklin died seized of an Estate consisting of lands and personal Estate, estimated to be worth about Fifteen Hundred Dollars; and that the said deceased leaves surviving him Mary Franklin his widow; and Rosa Shaw, married to Angus Shaw, John, Nancy, William, James, Marshal, and Hetta his children as his heirs; that your Petitioner, (being widow of said deceased, and) believing that said Estate should be immediately administered for the management of said property, and the collection of the assets, by virtue of her right under the Statute, would therefore pray your honor to grant Letters of Administration to Mary Franklin on her complying with the Statute in such case made and provided.
