Doris "Doe" Eleanor Jones
Doris "Doe" Eleanor Jones, 79, Prairie Village, KS, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2001, at Villa Saint Joseph. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 12, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the City Union Mission. Doris was born February 25, 1922, in Olmsted, IL, to E. C. and Georgia Hogendobler. After moving to Kansas City in 1953, she worked for Park National Bank, followed by 20 years with the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. In 1978, she became co-owner of Fox Hill Office Products, where she worked with her daughter, Eleanor, for another 20 years. Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS. She is survived by a sister, Elaine Ferguson and her husband, Homer; daughter, Eleanor Brown and her husband, Larry; son, Phil Jones and his wife, Lynnsay; grandchildren, Craig and Megan Brown, Colby Brown and his fiancee, Jessica Crook, Whitney and Matt Sweeney, Spencer and Jenni Jones; and great-grandchildren Bridget Brown, Allison and Julie Jones, and Jack Sweeney. Doris had a great wisdom and was always a positive influence on all who knew her. Her most cherished quality was her love for and her unfailing support of her family.
