Lula Vivian Johnson
Lula Vivian Johnson, 92, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2006. She was born November 29, 1913 to the late Collis Cleary and Ellen Thompson Cleary in Pulaski, IL. Mrs. Johnson received her primary education in Pulaski, IL. She was married to the late John L. Johnson, Sr. She was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church for many years where she served on the Mother's Board. During World War II, Mrs. Johnson was employed by P.R. Mallory. She retired from Community Hospital East in 1975. After retirement she was a part-time hostess at the Flanner House and the East Side Senior Center. She was a long time member and Past Financial Secretary of Pride of the West, Chapter #45 O.E.S.P.H.A. She was also a long time member of Persian Court #24, Daughter of Isis and Past Recording Secretary of The Golden Circle Girls Club. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Benjamin Johnson (Norma), Richard Johnson (Linda) and John L. Johnson, Jr. (Tina); daughter, Shirley A. Johnson; 8 grandchildren; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Amos Allen; devoted niece, Sylvia F. Lane; a loving play daughter, Martha L. Williams; and many other family members and friends. Son, Jasce C. Johnson and daughter, Vivian L. Hampton preceded her in death. Services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1610 E., 19th St., with calling there from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
