Jack V. Smith
Jack V. Smith, 53, of Aurora, passed away Monday, January 13, 1997 at Mercy Center Hospital. He was born June 15, 1943 in Metropolis, Illinois. He was employed as a Mechanical Technician at Fermi Lab for 28 years. Survivors include his wife, Jill (Parker) Smith of Aurora; two daughters, Kelly Smith of Naperville and Lori Smith of Kalamazoo, Michigan; two granddaughters, Ashley Rice and Halie Kish, both of Naperville; one brother, Gordon (Cana) Smith of Metropolis, Illinois; three sisters, Sue Hale of Metropolis, Mildred (James) Cozart and Barbara (Robert) Morehead, both of Karnak, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Magaline Smith and by one brother in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 1997 at Dieterle Memorial Home. The Rev. William Burden will officiate, with interment at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dieterle Memorial Home. Contributions may be made in Mr. Smith's memory to Epilepsy Foundation or American Heart Association. Arrangements are being handled by the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, 897-1196.
