Jamezella Campbell Smith

Jamezella Campbell Smith, 84, passed away on April 14, 2004, in Arizona. 

She was born in Mound City, Illinois, and preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harrell L. Smith. Prior to her illness, Jamezella was a member of Recreational Centers of Sun City West, AZ, she attended and participated with First Baptist Church of Sun City West, including the Women's Sewing Club. She was a graduate of the Swedish School of Massage, Chicago, Illinois, and attended Roosevelt High School, Gary, IN. On January 4, 1938, she was united in holy matrimony to Harrell L. Smith, for sixty-two years, and to this union was born five children. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, devoted daughters Jane H. (the late Ulysses R.) Allen, Sandra M. Freeman (Bobby) Perry, both of Sun City West, AZ; sons Leon R. Smith, Gary, IN; Hutson C. Smith, Bloomington, MN; and Lionel Smith, Richfield, MN; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; sister and brothers-in-law Odessa R. Walker and Irma Smith, both of Gary, IN; Marjorie Hatton, Hobart, IN; Charles (Mary) Smith, Marrillville, IN; and Elbert Smith, Gary, IN; cousins Barbara Mable Evans and Milton Mable; devoted friends Alberta Collins, Nancy Quigley, Charlene Andrews and a host of relatives and friends. 

Services will be conducted at St. Timothy Community Church, Gary, IN. IN lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Timothy Community Church, c/o the Josephine B. Lowery Scholarship Fund, 1600 West 25th Avenue, Gary, IN 46407 or Sun Health Hospice Services, P.O. Box 2015, Sun City, AZ 85372.
