Muriel Adams Stahl

Muriel Adams Stahl, 94, wife of Ralph Wendell Stahl; mother of Kenneth Robin and Curtis Eugene; step-mother of Judythe Ann and Janet Dee, both deceased. 

She is survived by Ralph, Kenneth, Curtis; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was born in Mounds, Illinois, (Southern Illinois) on May 25, 1911. 

Her family moved to Indianapolis in 1919. She went to Shortridge High School, Butler University, B.S. degree in 1932, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and Indiana University, Bloomington, M.S. degree in Math in 1934. At age 15, Muriel was the Indianapolis City Women's Tennis Champion, which she was repeated several times, eight times in total. She won three state championships, Indiana, Michigan and West Virginia. The biggest one was the Tri-State, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, which she won in 1933 or around then. Prior to marrying Ralph in 1948, she was doing research in the metallurgical lab at P.R. Mallory & Co, during World War II. 

Her parents were named Harry Shaw Adams and Irma McConnell. 

Muriel was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church and involved in many charitable activities. She was very active in support of the Indianapolis Boys and Girls Clubs. She was dearly loved by her entire family and large groups of friends. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13 from 9 a.m. to Noon at Harry Moore Family Mortuary, Allisonville Road Chapel. Funeral services will begin at Noon. Burial will take place at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, PA on Saturday, May 14 at 2:30 p.m. (eastern daylight savings time). 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muriel Stahl Memorial Fund in care of GEO Foundation, 302 S. Meridian St., Suite 201, Indianapolis, IN 46225.
