1. "Johann Kirschner Family"

I am interested in any information you might have regarding Johann Kirschner and his family.  Johann d. 10-19-1927 buried in Olmsted. He had two wifes Susanne Kolb d.9-9-1897 and Catherine Schoenborn d.2-1947 Catherine is buried in Grand Chain. Children of Johann include my wifes grandfather Paul Conrad Kirschner who married Gabrielle Retry (from France).  I have a c.1923 photo of Gabrielle with a number of other folks reported to be the Rudolph family from Olmsted?  I also have a c.1904/1906 photo of Paul with what I believe to be a Lutheran Church confirmation class.

Other children of Johann were Otto, Elizabeth, George, Anna Suzanna, Theresa, Pauline, Regina and John.

If you have information about the above -- please contact me.

Thanks in advance.

2. "Re: Johann Kirschner Family"

Dear Mr. Weninger, I don't want to get your hopes up too much, but I recently interviewed my grandfather on growing up in Pulaski County (mainly about the depression and the flood).  At any rate, he did mention the Kirschner Family which lived a few miles from his family's farm.  I will print your post and call him this weekend to see if any of the names ring a bell.

3. "Re: Johann Kirschner Family

According to the book "Pulaski County, Illinois 1819-1987"...
John Kirschner was the youngest child born to John and Catherine (Kate Schoenborn) Kirschner in 1908, on a  farm about two mile north of Olmsted, Il.  He attended the Olmsted Elementary School in Olmsted, Il.  After finishing there he attended St. Joseph High School in Cairo, Il.  After completing high school, he stayed at home for many years helping his mother around the farm. For several years he was on the Police Force at DuQuoin, Il.  During the time he was on the police force, through the telephones, he met Aline (Cobb) Kirschner of Johnston City, Il.  Aline was a telephine operator in Marion, Il.  John and Aline were married.  They had one child who was still-born."  This is a section of one of the four articles contributed to the book by a Mrs. Kathleen (Robert) Hard.   If you don't have access to this book or Mrs Hard let me know and I will be glad to copy the pages and mail them to you.

Thank you so much for the replay on Johann K.  I Kathleen Hard is the daughter of Pauline Kirschner --- and Pauline the sister to John.  Kathleen lives in Paducah, Ky. and I have been in touch with her since July of 2000.  Jim Weninger

Scott -- thanks for replying to my inquiry.  I already have a great deal of information about Johann Kirschner -- and mainly looking for other Kirschner family relatives (unknown to me) who would be tracing this Kirschner family.  Jim

Sharon -- thanks for responding to my inquiry.  I already have a great deal of information about the Kirshner family and was really interested in seeing if some one else (unknown to me) from the Kirschner family was also doing research.

You might want to state on your web site that there is a Pulaski County book -- its not available any longer -- on 1250 copies made -- but individuals can order the book via the Interlibrary web site or from their local library
