Alma Ruth Butler
Alma Ruth Butler, age 80, of Flint, went to be with Jesus Wednesday, February 19, 1997. A family hour will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 24, 1997 at the Sunset Chapel of Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., Rev. James Hoyle and Rev. O.C. Goodman will officiate and burial will follow in Lovedale Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Butler was born on September 5, 1916 in Grand Chain, Illinois and has lived in the Flint area since 1954. Mrs. Butler was a homemaker and a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind to mourn, her husband Morris; children, son Andrew J. Graham and daughter-in-law Clarice, son Marvin Graham and daughter-in-law Dorothy, daughter Yvonne Brown, son Marlon Butler and daughter-in-law Sharon, son Vernon Butler and daughter-in-law Tonya, daughter Sherri Tapo and son-in-law Byron. In addition there are 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Preuitt; 4 brothers, Luke Clemons, Burton Clemons, Paul Clemons, Harold Clemons; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by a son Charles in 1989; parents Isiah and Ella Clemons; and brothers, Arland, James and Earl. Source: Flint Journal, The (MI) - February 22, 1997
