Clayton D. Buckalew
Clayton Buckalew, age 71, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at Elizabeth Ann Seton in Carmel. He was a resident of Greenwood. He was born December 24, 1934, in Mounds, IL. His parents were Jeff D. and Neda Belle (Rutledge) Buckalew. He married Shirley R. Hurst. She survives. Other survivors include a son, David C. (Teri) Buckalew of Greenwood; a daughter, Julie (Gary) Grenzow of Greenwood; a brother, Dennis P. Buckalew of Highland, IL. He was the Owner of the Buckalew Antique Store in Greenwood for 12 years, retiring in 1996; previously he had been a distributor for Home Interiors & Gifts for 15 years, retiring in 1985. He also had been a District Manager for Nationwide Insurance for 10 years. He was also a member of Greenwood Christian Church, the Johnson County Foundation Board, and was a Past President of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. He was a 1998 Heart Transplant Patient. Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2006 at the Greenwood Christian Church, with calling there 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2006. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood Christian Church Building Fund or to the American Heart Association. Source:
