Joseph "Joe" Boykin

Ypsilanti, MI--Joseph "Joe" Boykin, age 74, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Whitehall Convalescent Center. 

He was born September 18, 1931 in Mounds, IL, the son of Cathedric M. and Nonnie (Hayes) Boykin. Joe worked at Ford Motor Company, Ypsilanti plant for 15 years.

 Survivors include: two sisters, Evelyn Boykin of MN and Shirley Harris of WI; two brothers, Lawrence (Gladys) of Chicago, IL and Walter (Rosetta) of Ypsilanti; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers. 

The funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday, November 5 at Stark Funeral Service, Moore Memorial Chapel with Rev. Karen Goodson of Tabernacle A.M.E. Church, Idlewild, MI officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. 

Visitation will be at the funeral home 6-8 P.M. Friday and the family hour will be from 10 A.M. until time of service Saturday.
