Katheryn Baker, 81, of Greenwood, Ind., died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at her home.

She was born July 2, 1918, in Vienna, Ill., daughter of James W. and Katherine Holcomb Wallace.

She was raised in Cairo and was a 1936 graduate of Cairo High School. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, William R. John of St. James, Mo., Gary John of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds, with William R. John officiating.

Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
