Betty Barkett Chivalie, 68, of Key Largo, FL., died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, FL.

She was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Cairo, daughter of David and Ruth Lassiter Groves.

Betty was a retired licensed practical nurse. She was a member of Key Largo Elks Ladies Auxiliary, and the Episcopal Church.

Survivors include a son, David Barkett of Cairo; a daughter, Sissy Stelzried of Winston-Salem, NC.; a brother, Philip Groves of Chaffee, MO.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 4-7 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Dr. Larry L. Potts will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, IL.
