LaDon Richard Capron

LaDon Richard Capron, age 75, of Columbia, Missouri, died on Friday, Nov 10, 2006, at his residence. 

He was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Pulaski, Illinois, son of the late Rev. Arba A. and LaVerne Milford Capron. Don married Marilyn LaDue Capron on August 24, 1952, in Hannibal, Missouri. 

Don was a 1950 graduate of Wood River High School in Illinois. He then attended Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal, Missouri on a basketball scholarship prior to transferring to Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Prior to graduation, Don served two years in the U.S. Army in Europe where he toured on an Army basketball team. Upon his return to civilian life, Don graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a B.S. in business. Don worked in real estate, construction, and chemical sales most of his life both in the Columbia and Lake Ozark area. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. Don loved spending times outdoors, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren and often encouraged the boys with "Shoot the Ball!" 

Along with his wife, Don is survived by two sons, Mark Richard Capron, and his wife Laurel, of Fenton, Missouri, David Alan Capron, and his wife Susan, of Columbia; one daughter, Ruth Michele Capron-Walton, of Columbia; six grandchildren, Meredith and Stephen Capron, of Fenton, Hannah, Joshua, Jon Robert, and Mary Catherine Capron, all of Columbia; a brother, J. Austin Capron, and his wife Shirley, of Silver Springs, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. 

Don was preceded in death by his parents, and several aunts and uncles. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Open Door Baptist Church, 4838 Meadow Lark Lane in Columbia, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
