Otis Cherry
Otis Cherry, 59, of Muncie, passed away November 16, 2005, at home. Mr. Cherry was born to Leonard Cherry and Josephine Madison Hickman in Pulaski, Illinois. He retired from Red Lobster after several years of service. He was a member of Word of Life Church. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 36 years, Beatrice Cherry of Muncie; a son, Otis Lamont Cherry of Muncie; two daughters, Sonita Bennett and Tawana Cherry, both of Muncie; two stepsons, David Westbrook and Curtis Westbrook, both of Muncie; two stepdaughters, Angela Branson (Dajuan) of Muncie, and Akilah Freeman of Atlanta, Georgia; four brothers, Willie Hickman (Charlene) of Decatur, Illinois, Alfred Cherry (Florida), Roland Cherry, and Alphonso Cherry (Sabrina), all of Mounds, Illinois; four sisters, Joyce Algee, Lorene Beverly, Jennette and Alene Reed (Albert); two sisters-in-law, Mary Meeks and Bobbie Hollis; one aunt, Rosie Mason; three uncles, Clyde Madison (Susie), Jessie Madison (Betty) and Freddie Madison (Ercie); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Cherry and Josephine Madison Hickman; a sister, Mary Ealy; two brothers, Eugene Meeks and Nathaniel Hollis. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in Trinity United Methodist Church with burial in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling will be two hours prior to services at the Church.
