Blanche M. Elbe

Blanche M. Elbe, Kansas City, MO, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2000. 

A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2000, at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 N. Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Elbe was born January 23, 1910, in Mounds, IL, to Della and Barry Barnett. In 1930, she married Leslie C. Elbe; he preceded her in death in 1991. 

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Anne, and her husband, Clark Ward, Kansas City, MO; grandson, Patrick A. O'Dell, his wife, Jacquelyn, and their children, Kevin and Megan, Jefferson City, MO; granddaughter, Carrie Penland, her husband, Steve, and their children, Nicholas and Matthew, Kansas City, MO; and step granddaughter, Jeni Ward Bates, Glenview, IL. Mrs. Elbe, the eldest of six children, was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph C. Barnett and Patrick Bert Lawler. Surviving are a sister, Virginia Parmley, Granite City, IL, and two brothers, Lynn M. Lawler and his wife, Virgie, Escatawpa, MS, and Michael K. Lawler and his wife, Lillian, and sisters-inlaw, Alice Cosgrove and Clara Ashton, St. Louis, MO. She is also survived by her nieces, Vicki Toler, Barlow, KY, Sharon Hilmer, Granite City, IL, Judy Foster, Moss Point,MS, and Barbara Trubee, Escatawpa, MS. Nephews include Wayne Lawler, Long Beach, MS, Patrick Lawler, Huntsville, AL, Ronnie Lentz, Pismo Beach, CA, and Mickey Lawler, Mounds, IL. 

Throughout her 90 years, Blanche Elbe was a beloved member of her family and many friends, including Debbie Hall, her home health caregiver, and her neighbors in Kirkwood, MO, and Kansas City North, MO. Her gentle manner and steadfast love will be forever cherished.
