William D. Ervin
William D. Ervin, 78, of New Port Richey, passed away July 24, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Olmsted, Illinois and came to New Port Richey in 2002 from Inverness, Florida. He was a plant engineer for Caterpillar Corp. in Aurora, Illinois. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the American Institution of Plant Engineers, Industrial Management Association, Foreign Affairs Council, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Freda Ervin of New Port Richey; five sons, Doc, Gary and Bill Ervin, all of Montgomery, Ill., Dennis of Spring Grove, Ill. and Dana of Piano, Ill.; two daughters, Carla Brown of New Port Richey and Darcy Capocasa of Tarpon Springs; a brother, Marvin Ervin of Jonesboro, Ill.; and two sisters, Faymel Bergfeld of Aurora, Ill. and Viola Bagby of Jackson, Missouri. Mr. Ervin is also survived by 11 grand-children; three great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews. Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of North/Meadowlawn Funeral Home, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, Fla., (727)849-9281.
