Eleanor M. Fotenakes

Eleanor M. Fotenakes off Flushing, age 73, died Thursday, September 10, 1998 at Heartland Manor. 

Funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, September 14, 1998 at First Presbyterian Church, 746 South Saginaw in Flint, Dr. Lawrence W. Kent officiating. Burial in Flushing Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or McLaren Auxiliary. Visitation 12-3 pm and 6-9 pm  Saturday and 1-3 and 6-9 pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Fotenakes will be at the church from 10AM until the time of the service on Monday.

 Mrs. Fotenakes was born in Mound City, Illinois on July 7, 1925, the daughter of Raymond and Irene (Cameron) Easter and was a resident of Flint and Flushing since 1930. 

She married John Fotenakes on September 6, 1947. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer with McLaren Auxiliary. Mrs. Fotenakes was employed by General Motors Parts Division for 35 years, retiring in 1980. 

Surviving are 4 children, John R. and wife Ann, Denise Fotenakes and Mark Purkey, Gregg and wife Gaye, all of Flushing, Kay and husband Frank Barna of Granville; 8 grandchildren, Tara, Ryan, Trisha, Nicholas, Martin, Alex, Lisa and Andrew; brother, Paul and wife Joanne Easter of Flint; many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1989; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
