Otis Edward Forrest

Otis Forrest, age 75, a Gary resident for 54 years, formerly of Mounds, IL, passed away Friday, February 8, 2002, at Methodist Hospital Northlake. 

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII and a retired employee of General Motors Corp. Otis was a member of Bethlehem A.M.E. Zion Church. 

He is survived by wife, Louise Forrest of Gary; 1 sister, Lucille Gilliam of Bakersfield, CA; 2 brothers-in-law, Leo Bogee of Jefferson City, MO, and Chadwell (Emma) Terry of Oakland, CA; 3 sisters-in-law, Virginia Neuall, Vera Thornton and Brenda Johnson, all of Gary; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Visitation Friday, February 15, 2002, from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. Family hour 7 to 8:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 West 11th Avenue. Funeral services Saturday, February 16, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem A.M.E. Zion Church, 560 W. 19th Avenue. Rev. O.C. Comer, officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
