Barbara Ann Hawkins

Barbara Ann Hawkins, 64, of Battle Creek died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Battle Creek Health System. 

Barbara was born January 1, 1942 in Mounds, Illinois, the daughter of Samuel & Mary (Bell) Pointer. 

She was formerly employed at Arrowwood Nursing Home, Richland Plastic Production and during the 1970s & 80s at the VA Medical Center. Barbara was a member of The Potter's House and she enjoyed cooking for her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Morton, whom she married in Battle Creek on July 17, 1964; daughter, Julia G. Hawkins; sons, Bruce A. and Maurice A Hawkins all of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren; sister, Celestine "Pat" Pointer of Battle Creek; brothers, William "Bill", Clifford and Steve Pointer all of Battle Creek, a special niece Patty Pointer and a special friend, Janice McNichols both of Battle Creek. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

At the request of the family, friends may call at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home after 6 pm Friday, where they will be received from 6-8 pm. 

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday, July 8, 2006 at The Potter's House. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or National Kidney Foundation.
