Ameda Jackson
Ameda Jackson was born Sept. 5, 1910, in America, Ill., the daughter of the late Rudolph and Carolyn (Studer) Schnaare. Ameda was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Olmsted, a member of the Ladies Aid of the church and was a Cairo Evening correspondent for the America Community News for many years. She was a homemaker and a housewife. Ameda was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Jackson April 2, 1971; and by a brother, Walley Schnaare; two half brothers, Warren B. Nottingham and Marion Nottingham; and by a sister-in-law, Alice Schnaare. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dallas Jackson Sr. and Glynda Jackson of Mounds; five grandchildren, Carolyn Miller of Villa Ridge, Marsha Showmaker of Bonne Terre, Mo., Dallas Jackson Jr. of Urbana, Steve Jackson of Garland, Texas, and Pam Jackson of Lees Summit, Mo.; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Rennekamp of Mattoon; three great-great-grandchildren and three nieces. Services for Ameda Jackson will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Olmsted, with Pastor Carl Miller officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
