Catherine Jones

Catherine Jones was born to the parents of Henry Lowe and Carrie Lowe on March 15, 1920 in Mound City, Illinois where she met her loving husband John Henry Jones.

Catherine and John had four loving children, Florine (Jones) Wilkes, Christopher Edward Jones, Victoria (Jones) Mullins and Pamela Jones.

They lived in Brownsville Tennessee, Cairo Illinois, Miller City, Illinois and finally settled in Chicago, Illinois.

Catherine was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She accepted the Lord as her Savior early in her life and was a devoted student of his teachings.

Catherine moved to Muncie, Indiana in 1979 to be with her son, Christopher Edward Jones and to be involved in church ministry.

Until her sickness, Catherine regularly studied the bible with her friends.

While in Muncie she developed several loving relationships with friends, some of them fondly called her "Mother Jones".

Catherine departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2006.

Dedicated to her family, she was a kind, generous and loving person who will be greatly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Jones; her daughter, Pamela Jones; her brothers, Melvin Lowe, James Henry Jones, James Williams; and her granddaughter, Gwendolyn Wilkes.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Mrs. Viola Smith, Cairo, Illinois; her two daughters, Mrs. Florine Wilkes; Compton, California and Mrs. Victoria Jones-Mullins (Robert), Chicago Illinois; her son, Christopher Edward Jones (Vickie), Muncie, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Yvonne Carol Wilkes, John Weldon Wilkes Jr. (Renee), Dwayne Wesley Wilkes (Andrea), Pamela Michele Willis (Bryan), Troy Travis Jones (Wendy), Shellie Jillene Jones, Torry Harlan Jones (Lisa), Matthew Josiah Jones, Zachary Aaron Jones, Joshua Michael Jones; sixteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends who will miss her dearly.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2006 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN 47303. Pastor Bill McCoy will officiate.

Friends may call between 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
