Richard Day Jenkinson, Sr., passed away Dec. 25th at the Hope Hospice House. 

He was born Jan 15, 1928, in Olmsted, IL., the son of Robert B. and Josephine Jenkinson.

Richard is survived by his wife of 55 yrs, Junie Stover Jenkinson; two sons, Richard, Jr. (Pam), Bonita Springs and Don (Mary Beth), Knoxville, TN. one daughter, Cheryl Glass (Jon), Ft. Myers five grandsons and one granddaughter two brothers, Robert of Deltona, FL., and George of Meadow Bridge, WV. two sisters, Jane Hamrick of Meadow Bridge, WV. and Joann Elmore, Hinton, WV.

Richard graduated from Huntington High School in WV. and Charleston University in Charleston, WV. He worked as a Chemical Engineer for Union Carbide Corp. for 32 years in WV., NY. and IL. He retired in 1986 to Ft. Myers, from Schaumburg, IL. 

He was a member of Olga-Ft. Myers Shores United Methodist Church where a memorial service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 28, at 2:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the church at 14056 Matanzas Dr., Ft. Myers, or Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers.
