Stanley Jurrens
Stanley M. Jurrens of Saginaw, age 76, former resident of Grand Blanc, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at Alterra (formerly Woven Hearts) in Saginaw. He was born August 26, 1923 in Concordia, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Illinois. Mr. Jurrens served with the U.S. Navy Air Corps during WWII. He married Pauline McDowell November 21, 1945 who survives him. Mr. and Mrs. Jurrens came to Michigan in 1947. He had been employed by Consumers Power for 40 years where he served as Regional Manager in both Saginaw and Flint. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Mr. Jurrens was a member of the Rotary Club and a member and past-President of the Chamber of Commerce and also Junior Achievement. He had also served as Chairman of the United Way in 1967; Chairman of the Board for the McLaren Health Care Corporation; and a member of St. Mary's Hospital Advisory Committee. Surviving besides his wife are: 2 sons and 1 daughter, Jeffrey K. Jurrens, Hillsboro, Oregon; Terry L. Jurrens and her husband, Terry Fritz, Lapeer, Michigan; M. Randall Jurrens and his wife, Pamela, Saginaw; 7 grandchildren, Grady, Damion, Marty and Sarah Jurrens; Rebecca, Heather and Abigail Jurrens; 1 sister, Georgia Mowery, Ullin, Illinois; 1 nephew, Barney Larry. Funeral service will take place 2PM Saturday at the W. L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Rev. Marvin Sweigart will officiate. Friends may call at the Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., from 3-5PM and 7-9PM on Thursday and Friday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider their charity of choice.
