Mrs. Edith Arlene Mize, 77, of 422 North Front Street, died Sunday after a short illness.  She was born in Wayne City, IL., but had lived in Mounds for many years and was the daughter of the later Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Simmons of Mounds.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse L. Mize of Mounds, four daughters, Mrs. Mary Larrison of South Bend, IN., Mrs. Freda Linville of Elkhard, IN., Mrs. Erma Nell Essex of Villa Ridge, IL., Mrs. Lillian Bagby of Mounds, IL., four sons, Orval Mize of Niles, MI., Jesse Mize of Mounds, Benny Mize and Billy Mize, both of South Bend, IN., 30 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.  One daughter, May Bell Wilson, preceded her in death in 1966. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mounds.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson and Lambert Funeral Home in Mounds with Rev. Charles E. Ingram officiating.  Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
