Ona Agnes Malott

MALOTT, Ona Agnes - Of Flint, age 84, died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Community Home Health & Hospice.

 Funeral service will be held at 1PM Monday, March 24, 2003 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Tony A. Moody officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Revival Tabernacle-Youth Group. Visitation 1-4 and 6-8PM Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. 

Ona was born in Ullin, Illinois on October 14, 1918, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah (Dexter) Sowers and was a resident of the Flint area since 1936. She was a member of Revival Tabernacle and Joy Fellowship. She loved to grow her plants and was known in her neighborhood as "The Plant Lady." 

Surviving are 4 children, Nancy C. and husband Jim McCoy of Copemish, Michigan, Chuck and wife Daneen of Lennon, Karen D. and husband David Wahl of Grand Blanc, Russ and wife Gail of Traverse City; 11 grandchildren, Bruce and wife Ellen McCoy of Burton, Brian McCoy of Copemish, Michigan, Mitchell Meade of Flint, Danny Meade of Kentucky, Todd Meade of Grand Rapids, Cher and husband Steve Walker of Flint, Amy Malott of Flint, Billie Reagan, KaLina Reagan and Holly Wahl, all of Grand Blanc, Tom Martin of Traverse City; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim Malott of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Fern Smith of Flint and Mary Sowers of Illinois; several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bruce, in 1999; daughter, Linda Barfield, in 1987; grandson, Bradley McCoy, in 1993; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
