Michael E. Nix, 39, of Tamms died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, on arrival at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 3, 1964, in Cairo, Ill., son of Thomas and Janet Everett Nix. He and Carolyn Pearman were married Dec. 12, 1986.

Michael had worked as a shipping and receiving operator at Bunge Grain Co.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1986.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Nix of Tamms; a daughter, Andrea Sue Nix of Tamms; a son, Michael Earl Nix II of Tamms; his mother, Janet Nix of Olive Branch, Ill.; a sister, Becky (Stan) Vaughn of Olive Branch; Carolyn's parents, Bill and Beulah Morgan of Olive Branch; a sister-in-law, Connie (Terry) Dowdy of Tamms; a brother-in-law, Robert (Mitzi) Pearman of Advance, Mo.; four nieces; five nephews; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery.
