Alva Mae Pannell
Alva Mae Pannell, 82, of Olmsted, died at 4:44 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born in Union City, TN on June 3, 1921 the daughter of the late James and Kattie (BUTLER) Edwards. She was a member of the Community Chapel Church in Urbandale and was preceded in death by her brother, Vinces Ray Edwards and by three infant sisters, and her grandson, Jason Pannell. Mrs. Pannell is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas P. Pannell, of Olmsted; three daughters, Brenda Clark, of Olmsted; Nancy Martin, of Mound City; and Betty Carr, of Dongola; two sons, Alfred "Al" Pannell, of Mound City; and Alvin Pannell of Olmsted; three sisters, Janie Hildebrand, of Obion, TN, Rosalee Norman of Troy, TN and Hattie Mae Tyson of Obion, TN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation was at the Barkett Funeral Home on Mound City at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25. Funeral services for Mrs. Pannell were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2004 at the Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City with Rev. Paul Sadler and Rev. Dennis Clark officiating. Interment was in the Concord Cemetery near Olmsted. The Barkett funeral Home of Mound City was in charge of the arrangements.
