Lucy Norma Lee Pugh
Lucy Norma Lee Pugh, 72, of rural Mattoon, passed from this life at 3:57 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2005, at the Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 2nd, at the Schilling Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery, southwest of Mattoon. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Lucy was born May 2, 1933, in Karnak, Illinois, a daughter of John L. and Edna M. (Brown) Smith. She married her sweetheart, Harry L. Pugh, on May 27, 1950, in Robinson, Illinois. He passed away April 17, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Nicholas; three brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include her three sons, Harry L. Pugh Jr. and wife Becky of Mattoon, Jeff S. Pugh and wife Cathy of Belleville, and Tim L. Pugh and wife Debbie of Mattoon; her two daughters, Melissa G. White of Mattoon and Colleen F. Harrelson and husband Danny of Mattoon; her three sisters, Margie Buchholtz and husband Kenneth of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Shirley Smith of Springfield, Missouri and Carol Evans and husband Walter of St. Paul, Minnesota; thirteen grandchildren, Kimberly Foxx and husband Ben, Samantha Henigman, Nathan Pugh, Ryan Pugh, Eric White Jr., Christopher Pugh, Jacob Pugh, Elizabeth Pugh, Atticus White, Casey Harrelson, Jaime Pugh, Emily Harrelson and Abigail Harrelson; three great-grandchildren, Madilyn Henigman, Tyler Henigman and Ashley Foxx; in-laws, Jean Pugh, Edna May Kemper, Jim and Gloria Pugh, Bert and Albert Woodford, Charles and Jackie Pugh, Robert and Melissa Pugh, and Cathy and Bill Double; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pugh was a homemaker and a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lucy will also be remembered for her lovely flower gardens.
