Ray Phelps 

Ray Phelps "Scott", age 73, was born in Mounds, IL on March 16, 1923. 

He served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps during WWII in the Pacific. 

Scott graduated from North Western University after the war and taught English and Music in elementary schools in the Port Huron area.

 Scott came to Flint in the mid 1960's and became one of the cities favorite entertainers. His talent at the Hammond organ and piano for his customers at the Red Rooster, a local restaurant and lounge for more than 10 years, was unequaled due to his unlimited knowledge of music. 

Scott was married to Ruth Gibson until her death in 1985. 

Scott leaves: 2 nieces, Debbie Gonzalez of Grand Blanc, Judy Gaines of Lebanon, TN; 2 nephews, Bill Berry of Lebanon, TN, Charles Berry of New Mexico. 

Interment will take place at a later date in Mounds, IL. There will be no visitation or services.
