Loren L. "Sandy" Sharp

Mr. Loren L. "Sandy" Sharp, age 75, of Grand Chain, IL passed away at his home on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 4:20 a.m. 

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Revs. Joe Buchanan, Louis Brinker, and Robert Carlisle officiating; burial will follow in the Mound City National Cemetery. 

Sandy is survived by: wife, Helen of Grand Chain, IL; 2 sons, Joe Sharp and wife Debbie of Hillerman, IL, Ken Sharp and wife Joanne of Murphysboro, IL; 5 grandchildren, Josh and Ricky Sharp, Ashley Sharp, Kevin Sharp, and Bridget Sharp. 

He was a past member of the Big Ridge Baptist Church in Biloxi, MS where served as deacon, and was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Metropolis, IL. He was a retired switchman for the telephone company. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Stella K. (Kerley) Sharp. Friends may call at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home Wed., February 20, 2008 from 6 till 8 p.m.
