Freelon Threlkeld

THRELKELD, Freelon, Sr. - Age 86, died Friday, May 31, 2002 at Hurley Medical Center. 

Family will receive friends at 10:30AM Thursday, June 6, 2002 at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle 930 E. Myrtle, where funeral services will be held at 11AM, Dr. A.J. Pointer officiating. Burial in Lovedale Cemetery. Viewing 12Noon to 7PM Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home. 

Freelon Threlkeld, Sr. was born January 5, 1916 in Villa Ridge, Illinois, the son of the late Robert and Joanna (Hughes) Threlkeld. He had been a resident of Flint for the last 49 years. He was a retiree of GM Chevrolet Truck Assembly and was a member of UAW Local 598. 

Surviving are: 7 children, Rev. Freelon (Rochelle) Threlkeld, Jr., Robert (Mary) Threlkeld, Patricia Threlkeld, Anita Loving, Paulette Threlkeld, and Cynthia Jordan; 2 daughters-in-law, Tonedia Threlkeld and Dorothy Moore, all of Flint; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother, John Threlkeld of St. Louis, MO; 1 sister, Anna Belle Flynn of Peoria, IL; brother-in-law, Archie Summers; former wife, Corine (Simmons) Threlkeld and family; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

He was also preceded in death by: wife, Ada Belle Threlkeld; daughter, Jacqueline; sons, Arthur and Cornelius.
