Mark Walton

Mark Walton, son. of John and Mary Ann Walton, was born near Bader, Ill., March 13, 1866, and passed away at his late home near Ullin, Ill., July 20, 1936, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 7 days.

On May 30, 1881, he was united in marriage with Miss Ruth Robertson of Browning, who, tho feeble herself, watched over and helped care for him during his long period of ill health.

Four children were born to this union, the eldest son, Earl, dying at the age of seven years. Those surviving are Mrs. W. F. Roberts of Colchester, Mrs. Wm. Lingle of Dongola and the son, Elza, of Ullin. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Arnold of Browning and Mrs. Lou Hammond of Table Grove; eleven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, eight nephews, four nieces, besides many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Walton's early life was spent in the vicinity of Browning. In 1912 he moved to the southern part of Illinois, settling in Ullin in 1914. A short time later the family moved to the farm on which be spent the remainder of his life.

He was a kind husband and father and a man who will be sadly missed by his family and large circle of friends.
