Misc. News

The people of Magnolia village were startled this morning at the information that Harriet, wife of D. P. Fyffe, the veteran harness maker of Magnolia, had died suddenly during the night. She was taken with an attack of bilious colic, the paroxysms causing death in a few hours. She came to Magnolia with her husband in 1834, where she had resided to the time of her death. They had five children, only two of whom are living. Mrs. Fyffe was one of the sterling women of the place, highly loved by a large circle of friends, and will be mourned by her venerable companion and family and the community at large. The family were packing up goods, making preparations for removal to Nebraska, which is now saddened by this sudden and unexpected death of mother Fyffe.
