Peter Seibert fell dead near Anthony Chance.

Florid, November 4, 1897
On last Sunday afternoon, the body of a young man named Peter Seibert was found lying in the road near the residence of A. Chance. Coroner Taylor was notified, a jury was impaneled and a verdict rendered according to the evidence that Peter Seibert came to his death by an overdose of liqueur. The funeral was held Tuesday at 10:00 from the residence of Harry Brown and the body interned at the Florid cemetery.

From another correspondent
Peter Seibert, one of our worthy citizens was found dead in the road near the farm of Anthony Chance last Sunday eve. Mr. Seibert had been in Hennepin in the morning and was on his way home, stopped at Florid. Persons who talked with him said they never had seen Mr. Seibert more cheerful. He started home about 1:00 o'clock, being subject to heart trouble. It's supposed he dropped dead before reaching his home.

Jacob Seibert, an aged citizen of McNabb, passed away at his home last week. Services were held at the M.E. Church at McNabb. Interment was in the Florid cemetery Sunday afternoon.

Jacob Benjamin Seibert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Seibert, was born Oct. 4, 1847, at Harrisburg; Pa., and departed this life at his home in McNabb on Oct. 18, 1929 at the age of 72 years and 14 days. He spent his early life in Harrisburg, coming to Illinois when a young man. On March 19, 1872, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Jane Wallin, and to this union were born six children, Sarah L. Dissinger of Henry, Charles W., Anna M., of McNabb; Malinda, deceased; John F. of McNabb, and Mary H. Halstead of Utica. He leaves to mourn their loss, besides his wife and children, one sister, Mrs. Anna Hopper of Pontoosuc, one brother, George of McNabb, nine grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the M.E. church at McNabb, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Rodgers. Burial was made in the Florid cemetery.

Aged Florid resident buried Thursday afternoon.
Funeral services for William Seibert Sr., were held in the Florid church Thursday afternoon at 1:30, Rev. Henry Ebert of Granville had charge of the services and spoke comforting words to the bereaved. Mr. Seibert was born in Harrisburg, PA 78 years ago. When a small boy, he came with his parents to Florid and practically all of his life was spent here. About five years ago he went to live with his three children, vis: William of Hennepin, Jessie, Mrs. Harry Brown of LaSalle and Lizzie, Mrs. David Brown of Chicago. He passed away at the home of the latter Monday morning, February 6th. Deceased is survived by five daughters and two sons, 31 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two brothers, one sister and a host of other relatives and friends who now mourn their loss. The floral offerings were many and beautiful some attributes to the memory of one who held respect and esteem by all who knew him. He was laid to rest beside his former wife in the Florid cemetery. Thus ends the earthly career of another old resident.
