Leon E Delassus ran a general store and sawmill. It had a landing for boats. The village was damaged in 1899 by a flodd. The entire village was destroyed in the flood of 1973. A few houses remain, the Church of the Immaculate Conception, founded in 1675 still stands. The alter and bell were given to the church by King Louis XV of France.
